Amy Schumer Jokes John Cena Was ‘Actually Inside Her’ During Steamy Trainwreck Scene
Amy Schumer couldn’t resist cracking a hilarious joke about filming an intimate scene with John Cena in the 2015 comedy Trainwreck — claiming Cena was “actually inside her” during the steamy moment.
In the film, Schumer plays a commitment-phobic woman who gets involved with Cena’s character, Steven, a fitness-obsessed gym rat. Reflecting on Cena’s incredible physique, Schumer once joked, “That butt is like a whole universe… It’s not even human. It felt like a refrigerator was on top of me.”
She poked fun at her own role in the scene too, admitting, “I think it was probably tougher for him. He actually had to do something, while I just did what I normally do during sex — just lay there.”
Cena himself opened up about the awkwardness during a 2015 Conan interview: “They wanted it to be awkward, so we delivered.” Later, on Club Shay Shay, he praised Schumer for keeping the vibe light but revealed how far from intimate filming really was: “Catering was right there, the sound tent was right there… It was really embarrassing.”
Schumer responded to Cena’s behind-the-scenes honesty on Instagram with her trademark humor: “That scene meant a lot to me, I was really into it… and I’m in love with you.”
