Elon Musk makes insane prediction for future of AI that would give every person on Earth a ‘high income’

Musk has outlined an optimistic future following major AI advancements

As artificial intelligence continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, it’s only natural for people to worry about what the future might hold. Concerns over job losses, ethical dilemmas, and even existential threats dominate much of the public discourse around AI. The idea that machines could soon rival — or even surpass — human intelligence has sparked both fascination and fear. This threshold, known as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), would represent a point where AI systems can perform any intellectual task that a human can, potentially better and faster.

Many experts believe AGI could place most jobs at risk, from manual labor to highly specialized professions. Predictions range from large-scale unemployment to the loss of human control over key systems. In extreme cases, some thinkers warn of a future where AI becomes so powerful it could dominate or even end humanity. These scenarios have led to a growing unease about whether technological progress is outpacing our ability to manage its consequences responsibly.

However, not everyone sees the future of AI in such dystopian terms. Elon Musk, a prominent voice in the tech world and head of his own AI company, offers a far more optimistic outlook. Despite previously warning about the dangers of unregulated AI, Musk now envisions a future where artificial intelligence could lead to widespread prosperity. According to him, if AI is developed and deployed thoughtfully, it could create an economic environment where everyone benefits — potentially resulting in a society where all individuals are effectively on “high income.”

Speaking recently at the Saudi-US Investment Forum, Musk laid out his vision for an AI-powered future. He explained that advanced AI could handle the bulk of labor, from physical tasks to knowledge work, thereby freeing humans from the necessity of working just to survive. In this scenario, the economic productivity driven by AI would be so vast that wealth could be distributed more evenly. Everyone could enjoy a high standard of living, even without traditional employment.

Musk’s vision suggests a world where abundance replaces scarcity, and where individuals have the freedom to pursue creative, intellectual, or leisure activities without the constraints of economic survival. This vision aligns with growing interest in ideas like universal basic income (UBI), which Musk and others have floated as a way to support people in an AI-driven economy.

Of course, such a future would depend heavily on the ethical development of AI, thoughtful governance, and policies designed to ensure equitable distribution of benefits. It would also require a major shift in how we think about work, value, and societal contribution.

While skepticism remains — and justifiably so — Musk’s perspective injects a dose of hope into a conversation often dominated by fear. Whether or not his prediction comes true, it challenges us to imagine a future shaped not just by technological power, but by human values and foresight.
