Eva Mendes, who shares two daughters with Ryan Gosling, shared she is “not afraid” of getting cosmetic work done as long as it’s safe.

Eva Mendes Embraces Cosmetic Enhancements After 50: “I’m All for It”

Eva Mendes is aligning herself with those who openly support plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments.

The Lost River star—who shares daughters Esmeralda, 10, and Amada, 8, with longtime partner Ryan Gosling—recently opened up about her evolving views on aesthetic procedures since turning 50, acknowledging both past regrets and her openness to future treatments.

“I’m not afraid to try things that are safe,” Mendes told The Times in an interview published on Oct. 17. “Most of these little treatments, let’s say, are reversible. If you get Botox, it goes away if you don’t like it.”

She admitted that some treatments in the past left her disappointed, but the effects eventually wore off. “There have been times where I’ve regretted something,” she said, “and then you just wait it out.”

Now, she’s considering a laser treatment on her jaw to address inflammation and discomfort—a reflection of the physical changes she’s noticed since reaching the milestone age.
“That number sounds crazy,” she said. “I feel like a girl inside and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I’m not a girl anymore.’ I forget everything. I think that’s part of being 50. I think I’m looking down the barrel of hormonal changes.”

Mendes has long been candid about her views on cosmetic work. In 2021, when accused by online critics of denying plastic surgery, the Place Beyond the Pines actress took to Instagram to clarify her stance.

“All I did was reply to a specific comment on [social media],” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “Would never deny that stuff. I’m all for it. All. For. It.”

She even shut down rumors that she had stepped back from social media due to botched procedures, explaining her priorities simply came down to family.

“As far as getting work done,” she added, “I’ll do that whenever I please. But no, that’s not the reason [I was offline]. The reason is I personally cannot juggle family and social media. So—big shocker—I choose family. Lotsa love to you out there.”

And when she does choose to undergo treatments, Mendes doesn’t hide it. She once shared a photo of herself undergoing a Mono-Threads procedure—featuring seven needles in her chin—to stimulate collagen and tighten her skin.

“Here I am getting some Mono-Threads,” she captioned the Instagram post. “Ayyyy Dios! I’ll update you with the results if you care.”
