Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (Serves 4)

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices white or sandwich bread
  • 8 slices of melty cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 4 tbsp softened butter or mayonnaise (garlic butter adds great flavor!)
  • ½ to 1 cup shredded cheese (for a crispy topping)
  • Optional additions: mustard, ham, or tomato slices

Instructions:

  1. Assemble the sandwiches:
  • Place 1–2 slices of cheese between two slices of bread.
  • Add mustard, ham, or tomato slices if desired.
  1. Butter the outside:
  • Spread a thin layer of butter or mayo on the outside of each sandwich.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on one or both outer sides for a crispy, cheesy crust.
  1. Air fry:
  • Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for about 3 minutes.
  • Place the sandwiches in the basket (cook in batches if needed).
  • Air fry for 4–5 minutes, flip carefully, then cook another 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  1. Serve:
  • Let cool for 1–2 minutes to allow the cheese to set.
  • Serve with tomato soup or a crisp side salad.
