Wheel of Fortune’s WWE Week Sparks Uproar Over Impossible Puzzle: “Wide Boulevards?” Seriously?!
It was a tense night on Wheel of Fortune during its special WWE-themed week when pro wrestler Natalya and her partner Grant fell just short of winning a brand-new Ford Bronco—thanks to a baffling bonus puzzle that left viewers scratching their heads.
The duo had fought their way to the top, earning a place in Friday’s grand finale after accumulating \$19,500. But their momentum hit a wall when they were handed the final bonus round in the category “Places.” With the letters _ _ DE _ _ _ LE _ _ ARDS on the board and just 10 seconds to solve, they figured out the first word—“Wide”—but couldn’t land on the second: “Boulevards.”
When the answer was revealed, Grant’s reaction said it all. Turning away in disbelief, he muttered, “Wide Boulevards!? Oh, okay,” his voice thick with sarcasm. Even host Pat Sajak, 76, tried to soften the blow: “But listen, you’re coming back tomorrow!”
But the real reaction came from fans, who rushed to social media to vent their confusion.
“WTF is ‘wide boulevards’???” one viewer wrote, echoing the thoughts of many.
Another added, “Seriously? Who even says that?”
While Natalya and Grant still have a shot in the final, the controversial puzzle stirred fresh debate about the show’s puzzle choices—something that’s been a growing concern this season.

Just days earlier, contestant Elizabeth Sanchez missed out on a brand-new Chevy after failing to solve “Candy Jar” under the category Around the House. She later told The U.S. Sun, “Who even has a candy jar at home? That sounds like something you’d see in a waiting room, not in a house.”
Another frustrated contestant, Ben Tucker, mocked his puzzle outcome—“Taking a Quick Jog”—in the Fun and Games category. His reaction? “Jogging isn’t fun or a game to me.”
From “Foamy Milk” to “A Peculiar Quirk,” viewers are increasingly questioning if the puzzles are getting too obscure to be fair.

Still, the WWE edition of Wheel of Fortune has delivered plenty of memorable moments. Wrestler Big E won hearts (and a finals spot) by charming Vanna White with promises to “save her kisses for later,” while Austin Theory caused a stir by spinning the wheel shirtless.
As Natalya and Grant gear up for their final shot at the top prize, fans are hoping for less head-scratching and more common-sense clues in what promises to be a dramatic showdown.
